We turn PTFE gaskets from Ø10-415 mm rods and cut shapes from sheets. Reinforcements: virgin PTFE (chemical applications), PTFE+25% carbon (mechanical applications), bronze-filled PTFE (self-lubricating) and glass-filled PTFE (dimensional stability).

PTFE / Teflon® combines distinctive properties:
Seals for acid systems (HCl, H2SO4, HF), alkalis (NaOH) and solvents. Virgin or reinforced PTFE.
For these applications, a PTFE grade with the appropriate manufacturer’s declaration is selected, taking the process conditions, including sterilisation, into account.
Flange seals for steam systems, heat exchangers and heating-water pipelines. Bronze-filled PTFE provides higher thermal conductivity, while graphite-filled PTFE provides lower friction and greater mechanical strength.
Dynamic seals (V-rings, U-rings) made from bronze-filled PTFE for pumps handling fuels and aggressive media. PTFE operates without lubrication and resists solvents and acids.

Virgin PTFE is pure, white Teflon with the best chemical resistance and physiological inertness. Bronze-filled PTFE is grey and has much higher mechanical strength and thermal conductivity, but bronze is leached by strong acids (do not use it with HCl or HF). Bronze-filled PTFE is ideal for dynamic pump seals.
PTFE has very broad chemical resistance. However, compatibility must be confirmed for the specific grade, medium, concentration, temperature and pressure. The main exceptions include molten alkali metals and highly reactive fluorinating agents.
PTFE gaskets are used in chemical processing (acids, alkalis and solvents), petrochemicals (refineries and fuel systems), food and pharmaceuticals (after selecting a PTFE grade with the appropriate manufacturer’s declaration for the process conditions, including sterilisation), power generation and power stations (steam and heating-water systems), and dynamic seals in pumps and valves (bronze-filled PTFE).
The typical continuous operating range for PTFE is from -200°C to +260°C. Operation beyond this range must be assessed for the specific grade, duration, load and manufacturer’s documentation. Other solutions are selected for higher temperatures, such as spiral wound gaskets with graphite (up to +550°C) or MICALIT P (up to +950°C).
We turn PTFE gaskets in diameters of Ø20-415 mm on CNC lathes. Larger gaskets are cut from sheets on a KIMLA CNC router up to 3100 × 1700 mm. We select the thickness and tolerances for the drawing, PTFE grade and process, and confirm them in the quotation.
