Material around the threads in an aluminium component was breaking away during assembly and use. We describe the diagnosis, selection of inserts and their installation method.
The customer approached us with a recurring component failure, for which thread inserts for aluminium provided the solution. Material around the threads was breaking away during assembly or in service.
The problem led to more complaints, a risk of failure of the entire subassembly, and additional service and logistics costs.
Because of the design requirements, changing the material of the whole component was not an option. The solution therefore had to be found in the threaded joint itself.
The ANBI-TECH engineering team analysed the application and operating conditions of the component. We identified the main cause as insufficient strength of a thread made directly in aluminium under repeated mechanical load.

Instead of seeking a substitute material for the entire component, we proposed a change where the problem occurred:
Through our own manufacturing capabilities and additional services, including installation of thread inserts, we implemented the solution comprehensively, from component modification through to production and quality inspection.
A significant increase in thread resistance to wear and pull-out.
Inserts installed in prepared holes in accordance with tolerance requirements.
The joint can be tightened and released repeatedly without degrading it.
A stabilised production process at the customer’s site, without changing the material of the entire component or redesigning the product.
In this project, the key was not manufacturing itself, but finding a technical solution that addressed the customer’s real problem.
A thread cut directly in aluminium has limited resistance to repeated tightening. A stainless-steel insert transfers the load to a higher-strength material while retaining the light weight and dimensions of the aluminium component.
This approach, combining CNC machining with technical analysis and flexibility, enables us to support customers in projects where no ready-made solution exists.

We had a very good experience working with Anbi-Tech on a new production line project for a bottling plant. Using a bottle sample and components from the old line, its engineer prepared the design and documentation for new change parts in SolidWorks. For a quotation, send a PDF or DXF drawing or a STEP model with dimensions. State the material, the number of pieces and the quality requirements. A photograph of the part alone, without dimensions, does not allow a reliable quotation to be prepared.
