Based on a sample bottle and components from the old line, we prepared documentation and a complete set of new change parts. We managed the project from measuring the sample through to manufacturing the finished components.
When modernising or building a production line, precise manufacture of change parts for bottling machines alone is often not enough. The greatest challenge is to recreate the geometry of existing solutions, adapt them to a new product and design components that will work together throughout the production process.
The starting point for this project was a sample bottle and components from an existing, older production line. The task was therefore not standard CNC production based on complete documentation supplied by the customer.
The existing solutions, packaging geometry and the method of guiding and orienting the bottle had to be analysed before new change parts could be developed. The project required two capabilities: engineering and design, together with precision CNC manufacturing.
We began by analysing the sample bottle and parts from the old line. They provided our team with a reference point for preparing the new solution.

Based on the analysis, our engineer prepared 3D models and technical documentation in SolidWorks. This was one of the most important stages of the project.
In a typical CNC order, we receive a finished drawing from the customer and manufacture the component from it. Here, the sequence was reversed: the design solution was created first, and only then did we prepare the manufacturing process.
This allowed us to take responsibility for a much larger part of the project, from concept and documentation through to the physical manufacture of the components.
Components that separate and transfer bottles between sections of the line. They determine the smoothness of feeding and whether the bottle reaches the next station in the correct position.
Parts responsible for securely gripping and guiding the packaging. Their geometry follows directly from the bottle shape, so every new format requires a new set.
Assemblies that position the bottle relative to the filling axis and rotate it at successive stages of the process.
A complete set of supplementary components required for the bottling process. These were interdependent change parts rather than a single CNC component, so both individual-part tolerances and the geometric relationships between them mattered.
